Montanyà Golf Club is a place of great beauty. Due to it’s proximity, the course has an intimate relationship with the Montseny natural park.
The privileged situation of the course which occupies 100 Ha., and the careful maintenance of the environment allows one to enjoy an unforgettable experience. The peace and quiet is only broken by the sounds of the varying species of birds.
L’Estanyol brook, and the ten lakes of different sizes provide an environment rich in flora and fauna. Nature and golf combine to give the player a unique opportunity to observe our natural environment.
The clubhouse is an old masía (catalan farmhouse) with origins in the 14th century. This has been beautifully restored to allow us today to enjoy the solidity and majesty of a traditional catalan building. On entering the club you will see the ancient Holm Oak, symbol of our golf club and listed as a natural monument of Catalunya.
We should not forget l’Estanyol Restaurant in the clubhouse. The fame of its kitchen complements great golf with fantastic cuisine.
The course was designed by David Thomas and opened in 1989.
The first nine holes are relatively short but technical.
The first tee, raised over a splendid lake requires concentration, ahead of a tough round. The incredible views of the Pyrenees at the seventh reduce the stress of play.
The course is at its best on the second nine holes. Once again, the lake comes into play at the tenth. From the raised tee of the par 3 14th, where the green is protected by l’Estanyol brook, there is an incredible view. The changes in level on the 16th allow Montseny and the Matagalls to be appreciated in all their splendour.
Each hole is presented in detail in the COURSE section.
